The
famous IXL trademark of
George Wostenholm and Son, Sheffield, England comes to
a knife for Cowboy re-enactors and Cowboy Action Shooters.
This
is a special order by us from Wostenholm, for the Cowboy re-enactors
and Cowboy Action Shooters that want the IXL name but not the
cumbersome bulkiness of a big 10" Bowie, so we special
ordered a 6" blade with all the old west details of the
original.
They come with all the details of their $300+ big brothers, "REAL" Stag,
Bone, Horn, or Rosewood scales, heavy weight blade and tang
that's hot forged from carbon steel which
is hardened and tempered before being hand ground, finished,
and polished. Every
step of the manufacturing process is done to exquisitely tight
standards, with metal parts and blade being hand polished to
a mirror finish. These
blades are made for costume use, although the blades are high
carbon steel, they do come with a razor edge.
They
are patterned after a design from the Wostenholm library that
dates back almost 200 years, with double edge blade and dual
thumb notches on the blade top for extra support. The blades
are engraved "IXL" on one
side, and Sheffield, England on the other.
Please
Note: George Wostenholm and Son has recently sold out and
the IXL trademark sold to a distributing company. So these
will be the last true IXL knives we will be getting in.
Because most Cowboy re-enactors and
Cowboy Action Shooters prefer to make scabbards of their
own design, these do not come with a scabbard. Should you
choose not to make your own scabbard, one is available for
$28.95 (see picture below).
All of these are special limited order items, and limited to
our stock on hand.
